It's a really exciting, dramatic war movie that offers an inside glimpse into the ongoing conflict in Iraq, from the unique perspectives of several different soldiers. Another movie about rising above and breaking beyond tough conditions and boundaries is the hugely acclaimed Precious. Precious is a really touching, dramatic movie and it will definitely move you and make you think. It's really a special kind of movie that only comes along once every few years, and it's definitely worth your attention if you've never seen it before.
Up in the Air didn't end up winning any awards, but it was nominated for all of the big ones and is still a great movie despite winning. George Clooney offers a great performance, and the movie is smart, funny and fun to watch. A disappointment that it didn't win any awards to be sure, but being heavily nominated for the 2010 Oscars is of course still a great reward for a great film.
Of course everybody has been talking about Inglourious Basterds since it was released last year, and it was another winner from the Oscars this year. Christopher Waltz won the award for the Best Supporting Actor for his very memorable role in this crazy movie. And don't forget about the Hangover, which was so funny there were actually people pushing for it to take home some of the biggest awards of the season!
